 Noelle Francis was just a girl who loved football. Now, she's a girl who loves football in front of a rapidly rising audience of more than 50k fans around the world, as one half (with her friend Fiona Rooney) of Girls With Game. Copa90 spoke to her about how she, and Girls With Game, got to where they are today.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START WITH FOOTBALL?

Since before I can remember, I always loved football, and I’ve always been quite a tomboy. My dad used to bring me out to games as a kid and I’d like to play.

I was always looking for a team, but there were never many girls’ teams around. So then I remember, I was about 12 and I found a team about 30 minute away and my dad brought me and I joined. Everything was good – I mean, we lost nearly every game like 8-nil – but I was just so happy to actually play on a girl’s team.

Then I started to find other teams around that were maybe closer to home. I joined Bohemian Football Club in Dublin, which is probably a really big club, and in 2010 we won the treble and things started to get really competitive for me.

And then that team caved in, and I went back to my local team. I’ve played there ever since.

I just love football so much; it’s the best thing for me, really.

WHAT TEAMS DO YOU SUPPORT?

I love Manchester United; I have since I was a kid. My dad loved them, so he got me into them.

But I just love watching football. In La Liga, I support Barcelona — in Italy, I support Juventus — I just love watching any game. If there’s a match on TV, I’ll tune in. It’s an obsession really.

HOW’D YOU GET INTO FOOTBALL BOOTS, SPECIFICALLY?

As a kid, I was always asking my dad to buy me the latest boots. Obviously he loves that I love football, but then it got to a stage where I wanted new ones all the time so he said ‘No. No, you have to work for this.’ So I’d babysit and stuff, or do some chores around the house, to try to save up a bit of money, and I’d actually buy my own pairs.

And I remember Predators — Adidas Predators. They were so expensive, even back then. And for a kid to be saving all her pocket money to buy boots…I was always just fascinated with them. I always had to buy the best boots.

Then, as I got older and had a job, I’d go online and was always looking for deals — boots that were on sale. And then it just became an obsession; it was madness, I was buying boots then every few months. And now, I don’t even know how many I have.

HOW DID YOU TRANSFORM THAT OBSESSION INTO GIRLS WITH GAME?

I was posting on my own Instagram for ages — that page goes back to 2014 or 2013, maybe. I was just posting pictures of all the boots that I was buying.

And then ProDirect Soccer got in contact with me, asking to send me a pair of laces to put on my boots, and I was like ‘oh cool, thank you!’ And then people were always asking me questions, and for advice on what’s good to buy, and then it kind of went from there.

I was told by a lot of people that I should start a blog — so then I sort of started a blog, for myself. And then after a few months I said to my friend, who is brilliant at graphic design and videography, I asked her if she’d be interested in getting involved.

And then we tried to come up with a name, which is when I came up with Girls With Game, and we started it.

In February 2016 we set all our little pages up [such as the Instagram account] and we began posting then, and we set up a YouTube channel — so yeah, we’ve been going about a year and a half, and we have almost 50,000 followers which is insane for such a short amount of time.

It’s pretty big to have such a following of people who just love asking advice and who love what we do — it’s really, really cool.

HAVING BUILT SUCH A LARGE SUPPORT IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME IS INCREDIBLE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY BEING A WOMAN IN FOOTBALL ISN’T ONLY MET WITH SUPPORT. WHAT’S BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH SEXISM?

Oh, there’s so many things I could say. You have people who are so supportive, especially family and friends, but then even they can come out and say something that’s kind of hurtful. I remember my dad said something that really annoyed me — and he’s my biggest fan, he’s amazing — but he said: ‘I think that women shouldn’t have the full-size goals. They should have a smaller goal.’ And I laughed at that and said, ‘Excuse me? I think that’s absolutely ridiculous.’ Like fair enough, men are generally taller than women, but it was crazy for him to come out with that. And I mean, after, I gave him all of my views and he was apologetic and said that he didn’t mean to be so sexist. But you have to think before you speak on things like that, you have to understand that it’s not really nice to hear when you’re so crazy about football and you’re being told that women aren’t really as good as men.

I was always in school playing with the boys, and when I see them now they always say ‘You’re doing well, and I remember playing football with you in school and you were always the best one there.’ So, on the other hand, it’s great to hear from guys who do support.

But on Instagram, maybe I’d post a comment on a picture of, for example, SportBible. And I would just comment my feedback or my views and I’d be told, ‘Shut up, you don’t know anything, go to the kitchen.’ Things like that, it’s like, oh my god — I’m a football fan, I play football. And you are here to give your feedback on this player or this goal; why am I not allowed to do that?

At the beginning, I really found it hard to accept these comments and forget about them. But now I am so much better at handling it, I kind of laugh it off or I’m ready for it. I have my answers ready for these people who are just so rude and arrogant.

You just have to deal with it, really. Women’s football now — it’s getting a lot more support from people all around the world, but there’s still ignorant people who will never, ever understand and who will never be kind about it. Someone was abusing me on Instagram because they said I didn’t know anything about football because I’m a woman and that nobody cares about women’s football, so I said to him: ‘Ok, fast forward ten years’ time, when you have a little girl and she wants to play for a football team. Are you going to tell her no, girls can’t play football?’ And he didn’t know what to say. That’s my way of making people think about why they’re saying what they say to me. But it’s rare you get an apology anyway.

I think that with the media putting it out there that women’s football is an amazing sport and it’s growing so big, I think that we can overcome it. I hope.

I’M ALWAYS SHOCKED BY PEOPLE WHO COMMENT ON THINGS SAYING THAT ‘NOBODY CARES,’ BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY’VE CARED ENOUGH TO COMMENT.

Exactly. I saw loads recently when Toni Duggan got signed to Barcelona, and the comments on the post — I was so annoyed, I was telling myself to stop reading them, but I couldn’t stop. The comment that annoyed me the most, and this was horrible: ‘I think I saw her on PornHub’…And then there were a few saying ‘Is that the new physio,’ ‘is she the cook,’ ‘why is the football player’s wife holding the jersey’ — stuff like that. And these comments were getting loads of likes. And I mean the people who said it are horrible, but the people liking these comments are feeding them.

Eventually I did have to stop reading them because I got home from work and was so upset that I couldn’t sleep that night. It really did get to me, but I had to think that this is the internet; once you put something up you’re going to get that regardless. And unfortunately, not everyone is going to think like you or have a decent input.

I HOPE THAT TONI DOESN’T READ THE COMMENTS.

If I got so upset and it wasn’t even me, I can just imagine her.

But you know how you can see who likes a post? I saw so many famous Premier League or Spanish footballers liking the post [of her moving to Barcelona], and if these people could only see their idols are actually liking these pictures in support, that they’re so supportive of women’s national teams. Why can’t that show the kids — or immature men — that we have to support these women. They’re representing us, they’re representing the country, and they could probably nutmeg you with their eyes close. They deserve so much more than they get.

IT’S ESPECIALLY GOOD, THEN, TO HAVE PLATFORMS LIKE GIRLS WITH GAME TO SHOW WOMEN ARE HERE TO KEEP PLAYING NO MATTER WHAT.

Exactly.

Although I’ll admit, in the very beginning, I could not get a reaction from anyone. I have friends in the Instagram industry that were nice and followed me, but I was trying to get Girls With Game out there and I was just getting something like 100 followers, 200 followers, which was exciting, but none of those guys would give Girls With Game the time of day. Our content is 100% original, so we would always hope that people would share our pictures or our concept boots, but it honestly took months and months for anyone to share a picture — even though we were getting huge reactions on our page. But eventually, when people actually saw that we’re actually doing something and were getting bigger, then those accounts who were quite friendly with me would follow Girls With Game.

It took so long for people to believe in us. I wondered if it was because we were girls, if it was because we’re called Girls With Game — but eventually I kind of got over that, because now we’re getting so big and are actually bigger than the accounts I was worried wouldn’t work with us. It’s nice to see that if you’re persistent and you just keep you doing what you’re doing, then you’ll get there.

But it’s funny because I think that 86% of our followers are men, now. It’s brilliant. We actually want to target more girls, but it’s brilliant to have their support; they’re always commenting on and sharing our stuff. We get the odd comment that says we’re just silly girls, but the block button is a great thing.

We’ve actually started making our own custom t-shirts, and we’ve branded it with ‘GWG.’ And guys were saying that they wanted some really badly, and so we said that it stands for Guys With Game as well, just to show that GWG means that we’re all together and we all love football. That’s what we’re trying to put out there.

We were worried at the beginning that guys wouldn’t like it, but it’s actually the complete opposite. It’s a big pat on the shoulder for us.

SO WHAT’S YOUR MESSAGE TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO STILL CAN’T ACCEPT THAT WOMEN CAN PLAY AND WATCH FOOTBALL?

The hate — it goes over the head. Whatever they say, we know what we can do. And eventually haters become supporters, so we’ll just keep hoping that happens one day.

Today we want to discuss an issue that is dominating the Irish tabloids over the past two days.

If you have not already heard, the Ireland women's national team delivered a shocking press conference on Tuesday, 4th of April, regarding multiple issues that, well, should not be happening!

We all know women are treated differently to Men in football, which is not fair but that's why us girls/women must stand together and fight for change, like the Irish ladies have done.

Here's a quick low down on some of the issues that have been brought to our attention:

Issue 1 - Tracksuits

Now this was one issue that really shocked us.

These ladies represent OUR country yet they do not have a tracksuit to call their own?

The ladies meet in the Airport, get handed a kit and have to go and change in a public toilet, which is embarrassing and uncomfortable! Then they must give it back to be shared with the underage FAI teams.

We cannot imagine that happening to the men's team, could you? GRR! A tracksuit really isn't much to ask for, is it? 

Issue 2 - Loss of earnings

Not all the players on the squad are Professional players and they have to take time off work to attend matches/tournaments, which leaves them out of pocket. Again, we were also shocked by this as we presumed the FAI would be accommodating and at least cover the losses these ladies  have made. They do such an outstanding job representing Ireland and lets face it, they're probably the best team in the FAI at the moment.

Issue 3 - Hotels/Wi-Fi

The ladies stated that some hotels they stay in, don't even have Wi-Fi. You may think that is not THAT big of a deal, but it really is! No Wi-Fi, No Party! But really, being away from home for is hard enough, without not being able to keep in contact with family and friends, so having decent accommodation and working Wi-Fi is essential. 

Issue 4 - The squad want gym memberships 

Simple as that. Its not a big deal and the FAI should be happy to provide that! Their players want to train together on the pitch and in a gym. This would benefit the team and also make them stronger, literally! *Insert 'Do you even lift?' meme here*

Issue 5 -  Access to a nutritionist

Again, this request is not too much to ask. They want to look after themselves and this will benefit the team and the FAI. I'm sure there are plenty of nutritionists working for the FAI and if there is not, we would be happy to place an ad on our website for one for you guys? 

In the picture below you will see the whole list of things the IRLWNT want to be addressed.

Myself and Fiona were honestly baffled to hear that our women's national team do not even own an FAI tracksuit. Personally I felt like writing a letter to Umbro asking them to help fix this immediately. I'm not sure how generous Umbro Ireland are in regards to sponsoring kits and tracksuits to national teams, but I presume they would be glad to supply the squad with some gear for them to take home for themselves, if the FAI aren't going to provide it. 

When I watched the press conference, it really annoyed me. Women's football needs improving! After posting a rant on Facebook, an old teammate of mine reminded me about when we (Bohemians FC) made it to an All Ireland Cup final, and we arrived to the grounds only to be given 12 measly bottles of Lucozade sport. 12! Not even enough for our full team. We won, were given our lovely FAI cup medals and left.

One thing that grinds our gears is when people refer to women's teams as "The girls". Women who play football, play for the love of the game. Most women have jobs and their own families, and yet they still make time to commit greatly to a team or club. Our WNT have given so much to the FAI, and they deserve better!

Which is why it give us great pleasure to tell you that Today, an agreement HAS been made between the IRLWNT (represented by The PFA) and the FAI.

Here is a statement made by the FAI today:

6th Apr 2017 

"Discussions between both sides came to a successful conclusion earlier this morning, where all ‘Issues to be addressed’, as outlined by the Players, were successfully resolved. Following the positive outcome to the mediation process the Players confirmed that they will return to training today, in preparation for their international fixture against Slovakia on Monday at Tallaght Stadium.

The Association is pleased that both sides have reached common agreement and a settlement, which allows the two parties to move forward together as one, in the best interests of Irish football."

We are delighted to hear that an agreement has been reached, and hope that this can only get better for the ladies and the young girls in Ireland and all over the world who just want to play football!

 Hands up if you hate wearing ankle guards?

 I don't know about you guys, but I really don't like wearing them because I have always found them to be too chunky and they tend to make the fit of my boots feel uncomfortable. 

In saying that, I have always worn them because we all know how painful it can be to be kicked in the ankle, right?

Our impressions

On first look we loved the appearance of these ankle guards.

They are slim line and the padding is a lot thinner than most ankle guards which was a plus for me. Also, they are black and red, the GWG colours. So that was a win in our book.

However, if you look below at the box they came in and the un-boxed guards that we received, you will notice that they don't match the packaging.

We didn't pay much attention to this at first. 

But, looking further into it and speaking to the guys at g-form we realised that we actually received the ankle guards that have now been discontinued.

Now, G-form have advised us that the only difference between the version we received and the version they sell now is the colour (Yellow). 

But obviously we cannot confirm that!

So this review is based on the version that we received. 

We received the S/M size to try out and here are some pointers from myself and Noelle as we both agreed a lot on these.

We felt like we were wearing just socks as they super light, thin and comfortable.  We really liked how you can wear them back to front, to protect the front or back of the leg. As footballers we wore them at the back as that is where we find we get kicked the most.One negative point about them was they moved around a bit for Noelle. She would have needed a XS version but they do not make them. But, wearing tighter socks made them stay in place as an alternative for her, as for me, i found the fit to be ok.

Would we recommend?

Yes, based on the version we received. However, again we remind you that the type available now from G-form are different to what we received so the choice is yours.

3D printing has come along way since we were kids, and lets just say we are hugely impressed that it has now come to the game of football. 

Who remembers this bad boy? Or am I too old?

We got a pair of these amazing 3D Printed shin guards from the guys over at ZWEIKAMPF

(Try say that name 3 times fast)

So lets take a look at a who ZWEIKAMPF are;

Now that we have filled you in on some information from Zweikampf themselves, we are ready to get into our own thoughts on these 3D printed shin guards.

I'm sure we can all agree that the presentation of these shin guards are on point. From the shape of the box they come in, right down to the packaging inside the box. These guys certainly didn't cut any corners here.

Then we move onto the items that come inside the box. 

Included:

Shin guards (obviously)

2 x rolls of sock tape

A bag that is big enough to hold your shin guards and boots

So, on first impressions they are ahead of the game!

Now it comes to the actual play test. 

One thing we noticed right away was that these don't come with sleeves to hold the guard in place, instead they come with tape. 

Personally this was a let down for me as i absolutely hate having to use sock tape. I have always found that sock tape just doesn't hold guards in place for me.

Now everyone might be different but for me it just doesn't work. 

However, if I was to still rate for presentation, the tape is still right up there as its not just any plain old tape, they have gone as far as to have their design on the tape. 

The guards themselves are comfortable, lightweight and the fit is great.

They protected me well and absorbed some heavy hits.

But they did move around during playing due to the tape.

Now onto the part that most people look at and then run away screaming.. THE PRICE!

These guards are a whopping €139 for a pair!

 Now wait, before you go clicking off this blog post, hear us out.

Obviously if you are looking at 3D printed ANYTHING then you are going to have to fork out some well earned cash.

So i'm sure you all want to know ultimately, is it worth it?

Here are our ratings

Fit: 5/5

Comfort: 3/5 (Due to the tape letting them move)

Protection: 4/5

Durability: 4/5 (Only because this will be an ongoing test)

So is it worth the price you still ask?

In my opinion, No, that is unless Zweikampf include a shin guard sleeve going forward.

If they were to include this I would 100% recommend these as they are fantastic quality and look great. 

And who wouldn't want a pair of 3D printed shin guards to add to their kit bag?

So Zweikampf, give us sleeves please...

Who doesn't love a good bargain? 

We certainly do and are always on the look out for the best deals.

Now, personally I (Fiona) have never been a fan of this particular model and the colours always seemed a bit over the top for me, but we decided to buy them and use them to customise and see if we could turn them into something better. After all, Who could say no for €25?

They arrived the following day by courier (Which is another reason for loving Lifestyle sports, they do next day delivery in Ireland which is fantastic)

The first impression of these boots was that they were actually extremely eye catching in person. They never really impressed us much looking at them on a computer screen, however we were pleasantly surprised when we un-boxed these.

Being so impressed by the look of these boots and how soft the material felt I decided to actually try them out at training later on that night. 

Originally I planned to just go right ahead and customise them as I didn't buy them because I liked them, But...

When I put the boots on they felt great, they were the perfect fit and extremely comfortable from the get go. 

Usually it takes a while for me to break in new boots and the first couple of training sessions they tend to be painful. However, these fit so perfectly there was no break in time at all.

The touch on the ball was also great due to the design and material the boots are made from. 

The material is strong and the soul plate is flexible making them extremely comfortable to kick the ball and to run in. 

In my opinion, these football boots are ideal for defenders, you can feel comfortable going in for those hard tackles knowing that the boots are strong enough to offer protection while still giving you a great touch on the ball. 

I have been wearing these for a few weeks now and I am still very impressed, even to the point I don't currently want to try out any other boots. 

But hey being a blogger you have to change it up!

We received two awesome packages from QuickPlay over that past few months. One package was in a huge box nearly taller than Myself & Fiona. It was our 12 x 6ft Match Fold goals! We couldn't wait to get it open and give it a go.

Setting up the goals took minutes and was very easy. Everything fit perfectly into place and the poles come pre attached so you don't need instructions to set it up from the bag.

We were really impressed. No one likes spending ages setting things up. As you can see by our unboxing video, we had a lot of fun setting it up! We were excited and really enjoyed the whole process, as you can see from the video and pictures below LOL.

After some playing, we found the goals to be super sturdy and strong. A lot of fold up goals on the market are so flimsy and fragile. QuickPlay really set the bar high with these. The net also impressed us. It fit the goals tightly and was secured using strong elasticated ties. The ties are so strong that they can be a little sore on the hands after a few times but other than that, everything was great.

When putting the goals away, you can simply fold them up and store them flat or standing upright in the clubhouse, shed, where ever you want to store them.

QuickPlay Replay Ball.

Next up, QuickPlay sent us out this Replay Ball. The Replay ball has an elasticated string attached to a heavy base, which allows you to hit shot after shot and the ball will keep coming back to you.

This is great for practising free kicks, shots and working on your pass.

Especially if you are training alone.  The replay ball is also great for working on your control/pass technique.

We really liked this ball and thought it was an excellent addition to training sessions. We feel that the replay ball would really help youngsters and benefit them for their footballing future.

For us, we mostly enjoyed belting in free kicks and watching the ball come back.

Lets face it, no one wants to keep running behind goal to get the ball after each shot.

Sometimes the Replay Ball gets wrapped around the crossbar and doesn't come back, which is normal if you are not using goals with a net! 

We found that if you are playing with goals without a net, the Replay Ball may get wrapped around the top of the crossbar and sometimes won't come bouncing back. Which is quite normal. Using a goal with a net will stop this from happening, and allow your missed attempt to come right back for a second shot.

One thing we noticed about the ball was it was pretty sore if you kick the area where the ball and elastic meet. You could kick the ball numerous times and feel nothing but then that one time you hit that area, it can be uncomfortable.

Overall, we had a great time testing out the QuickPlay goals and Replay Ball. They have definitely  made life easier for GWG, as it is hard to find a place without goals chained to fences, that allows us to play and practice . Now we just go to a park, set up our own goals and PLAY!

Also, a big shoutout to the guys at QuickPlay for hooking us up.

"Keepher Gloves: The first in female soccer goalkeeping"

Keepher specialize in Goalkeeper gloves designed for women. You may not think it (or believe it) but Women's hands are not built exactly the same as Men's hands! It is a very common problem for many female GK's to have difficulty in finding a suitable glove that, well, fits like a glove!

The founder of Keepher, Doug (Coach & Dad to 3 female GK's) got in touch with us and asked us to test and review a pair each. We were very interested in this from the get go as we wanted to see was there any real different between Male and Female gloves. Within days we received a big box from the US containing 2 pairs EACH, which we did not expect. It was a nice surprise to be given two different types of gloves so we could not only review the product, but get a feel for Keepher as a brand.

First Impressions:

The first thing we noticed about these gloves were the bright colours which really

stand out and catch your attention. They are quite girly and someone pointed out the Hera glove actually looks like a 'Buzz Lighter Year' style glove, which we found funny, and true! Bright colours are a huge part of football (Soccer) nowadays, so these bright gloves fit right in with the bright boots that are on the market.

The overall appearance is pretty impressive and we like how the logo and text stand out. Each pair of gloves comes in a tidy little carrier bag, along with some stickers which is a nice touch.

As for quality, you can tell straight away that they are made with top quality material. Both gloves are extremely soft on the back outer layer, and they are even softer on the inside. The Hera has a rough palm, suitable for turf or hard ground. The ADP has a super soft, smooth palm which is good for all conditions.

The wrist strap looks incredible. You can see how strong and secure the gloves are, which is hugely important for a goalkeeper. I broke my wrist 2 years ago and I have always felt nervous going in goals since, as my wrist is still not back to its full strength. But as soon as I tried these on, I felt secure, confident and I could not wait to put them to that test.

Play Test:

Testing these gloves out for the first time was fun! They look great and we got a lot of compliments on the training ground. For me, movement felt good. The finger saves and wrist straps worked really well. Making saves felt great. No fingers bending back and wrists felt solid when blocking powerful strikes. The palm was very grippy and sticky on both gloves, but personally I preferred the Giga grip on the ADP glove.

Fiona felt more comfortable using her gloves without the finger saves, which can be removed through the zipper pocket. Fiona is a very good goalkeeper, with extremely strong hands. She really seemed to enjoy testing her gloves out, and I found it was difficult to put anything past her.

Overall:

We really enjoyed testing these gloves out for Keepher. Overall we were extremely impressed.

If I had to choose my favorite, I would pick the Hera because I love the colour but, I do preffer the smooth Giga grip on the ADP. Both palms are great and work well but personally, I think the Giga palm has a slightly better grip.

Fiona also preferred the Hera glove and felt the hard ground palm was great. After one game in her ADP glove's, the grip peeled quite a bit.

Although these gloves are great, there was one tiny issue. Sometimes the stitching at the corner of the zipper above the wrist strap stuck out, which caused a slight bit of discomfort. But it was easily fixed by taking the glove off and pushing the stitching up into the glove.

Other than that, everything was great! We really liked working with Keepher on this and their service was second to none. Not to mention their incredibly fast delivery from the US to Ireland.

x16 PureChaos.

From the moment we saw these online, we fell in love!

Not because they are for "Women", as we love wearing all types of boots, but because the colourway was so eye-catching and unique.

We were lucky enough to receive a pair from Adidas when they were just released,

and we were the first people on YouTube to upload an unboxing video of this model!

First Impressions

The first thing we noticed about these boots was the appearance (obviously).

They looked explosive! 

The colour jumped out at us from the moment we opened the box.

The material of these X16's is top quality. 

The white around the front and toe area has a sticky texture with the NSG (Non Slip Grip) technology which is incredible. The soleplate is one of our favorite things about the boot. Again, the explosive colours compliment each other so well. They merge together in a paint splatter-like way, just like they do in the limited edition Paris pack Adidas previously released.

The upper is also a high quality material, which fits comfortably around the ankle area. 

Although these boots look laceless, they have laces hidden under the outer material in the midfoot section.

Trying them on for size.

After trying these on for the first time, we were extremely impressed with the fit, comfort, and the overall putting them on/taking them off process.

They literally slipped on so easily and taking them off was effortless, unlike a lot of boots nowadays.

They were such a snug fit and really matched our foot size and shape. 

As we said before, these boots do have laces to allow you to have a tighter fit, but we felt we did not need to tighten the laces.

They fit like a glove!

Testing - First Match.

Not long after we received these, Noelle wore them to one of our first games of the season.

She brought a backup pair of boots, just in case!

Noelle's views: 

"I slipped the x16's on as I did when trying them on for the first time. 

As they felt like a perfect fit, I decided not to laces them up for a tighter feel.

From the beginning, I was hugely impressed with the NSG technology. I felt so in control! My touch was better than ever. Sometimes I felt like I might trip over the ball as the ball almost stuck to my toes when dribbling, which was a great feeling. When it came to controlling the ball and take downs, the boots felt absolutely amazing! Maybe I was having a great game, or maybe the boots added an extra bit of magic. After-all, I do have 20+ pairs of boots, so I think I know how to spot the difference in boots.

What I loved about these was the fact there was ZERO break in time. 

One thing I was not completely happy with was I felt my foot slip around the boot when stopping and turning. Overall, I was happy with the boots, I also scored two goals which really made my experience testing these very enjoyable".

Cleaning:

After a few games, the boots started to get a bit dirty and the white became slightly dyed.

Overall:

After wearing these boots for quite some time, our overall experience with them has been great. 

As for the slipping, we found that the problem wasn't with the boot, it was with the socks used. 

After trying out different socks with them we found cheaper socks really don't help. 

(That's what happens when clubs chose cheaper kit sponsors I suppose) 

As for the laces, We have used them to tighten to boots occasionally, but really felt no difference in comfort.

The colour does fade which is not a shock, and this in stated on the boot bag you get with the boots.

We noticed the solepate seems to be coming lose around the inner of the foot, which started to happen after a few games. Considering the price of these boots, you would hope this would not happen so soon.

Overall we loved testing these out.

Girls With Game.

Spray painted football boots.

As you may know from our YouTube channel and Instagram page, 

we received a pair of Fake PureControl's to rest and review.

We liked these boots but as we do not wear them very often, 

we decided to spray paint them and see how they hold up!

If you haven't seen them before we sprayed them, 

Here is a BEFORE pic/

They look cool, don't they?

Anyway, we wanted to spray the boot all over, except the black cloth like material 

as we wanted to try to replicate the latest Limited Edition Adidas Space Craft boot.

We covered the cloth material with masking tape, which is amazing for covering they parts you want to keep away from paints, etc.

In the pictures above, you can see the boot has been completely sprayed gold 

to match the Space Craft look.

Then we removed the masking tape, 

to find the black was completely clean and looked amazing.

Spray painting boots is NOT recommended by us, this was simply a test on fake/cheap boots to see how they would look and if they paint would actually last.

We have 2 spray painted boot videos and the majority of people have asked the same question.

We received these Shin Guards from G-form recently and we were extremely impressed!

Who are G-form?

The first thing we noticed about our G-form shin guards was the cool packaging they come in. The box actually opens like a book, which is filled with interesting information.

As you can see in the picture above, G-form shin guards are:

-Lightweight

-Flexible

Our first impressions on these shin guards were:

- Easy to put on.

- A great fit. 

- Extremely comfortable and soft.

- Incredibly light.

- They look really cool.

We have used many shin guards over the years but these are something else!

We especially love the built in sleeve. 

Losing your shin guard sleeves is really annoying, 

and buying shin guards that don't come with sleeves is even more annoying!!!

G-form make wearing shin guards pretty easy. 

No sock tape necessary. No looking all over the house for your sleeves. 

No fixing the shin guards during games.

Normally after wearing a pair of shin guards for quite a long period of time we feel pain/discomfort.

(Especially with the 'waffle' inner part of shin guards by Nike, which we used previously)

We can honestly say, we could probably wear the G-form shin guards to bed and still have no issues.

Maybe We'll do a test video of it!  

Just kidding.

Although G-form are more expensive than your every-day shin guards, they are well worth it!

We've lost count at how many pairs of shin guards we've bought over the past few years,

and had to change due to discomfort, wear and tear or because they are hard to clean and smell horrible!

As they say, 'You get what you pay for'.

The red MAMBA BALL is finally here!

As red is my favorite colour, I was especially excited about this new product by our friends at Mamba.

 We received our ball on the 2nd of June, the day before its actual release date! 

We loved the presentation box it came in, with red crep paper which was a nice little touch.

The Mamba ball is the ultimate training ball!

It has a unique grip design which gives you extra control to improve your game!

It is great for those who want to practice their skills, improve their touch, learn tricks and play with friends.

 It comes in a small box, with a pump and leaflet included.

The pin for the pump is hidden in the handle which is pretty cool.

We all know how easy it is to lose those tiny pins so it is very handy to have a save please to keep it.

Personally, I prefer this ball to the yellow one.

The red looks awesome and the I found the yellow gets so dirty so easily.

What is Futchi?

Futchi is a new way for people around the world to enjoy the game of soccer, stay active, and connect with others. It is made for players of all skill levels. And it can be played anywhere from your backyard to the beach. 

Futchi is fun, but it also really helps you become a better soccer player, improving your touch, control and accuracy. 

A huge thank you to Futchi for hooking us up with one of these!

It was easy enough to set up with the help of the GWG crew.

Once we realized where everything went, it was a fast process.

After we set it up, I was shocked at how big it actually was. 

It looked amazing and was really fun!

Personally, I found the Futchi helps me get use to using both feet.

As I am right footed, it felt good to practice using my left more.

I think this will really help me in games and training.

The Futchi was easy to take down and it comes with a carry bag with two straps which makes it really easy to carry around on your back so you can bring it to your friends house, the park, etc.

DIY BLACKOUT!

Here we have an old pair of Nike Tiempos that were going to be thrown in the bin.

As you can see in the picture, they are very old and worn.

So, why not try and Black them out! 

Whats the worst that can happen? 

Clean the boot as much as possible. 

You can clean with nail polish remover.

And don't forget to remove the laces.

Also, make sure you have something to work on (Newspaper,a sheet, etc) as this can get very messy!

You should apply 2 or 3 coats for the best results.

Blackout boots are very popular at the moment. 

And If you have an old pair fit for the bin, I say why not give it a try! 

It is quite expensive to send your boots off to a blackout company.

You can buy DIY blackout kits from them also but they are very expensive. 

I blacked these boots out for roughly 10EURO! 

And I think they turned out pretty well!

If you haven't heard of these laces before, they are grips laces, designed to enhance your ball touch, minimize lace slip and retains fit. 

These laces come in all colors and are compatible with any boot! 

I tried these out back in September and I hate using boots without them now! 

The silicon coating really does enhance my touch and also keeps the laces from getting wet and soggy when playing in the rain. I don't have to keep tying my laces during games.

I hadn't bought a pair of boots in ages so I decided to go on a little Bargain hunt. 

Usually SportsDirect.com have decent boots at a great price. 

I saw they had a FLASHSALE on all Football products, woo hoo!!! 

I needed new boots suitable for my clubs new Artificial Grounds because my Umbro Speciali's were not so speciali anymore. 

So I picked up these Nike Hypervenom Phelon AG for a whopping €16.20!!! 

ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! 

Delighted with them! They're comfortable and look great! Although they are not the latest boots, for €16.20, you cannot let them pass!! 

NEXT:

As you may know, I am in love with Nike Mercurial Vapors. 

They're my all time favourite boot because they fit perfectly, not too tight, they look good, and the make me run super fast 😂 lol jk. 

So, when I saw these and I knew right away I couldn't leave (or log off in this case) without buying them! 

**Before you go and tell me these Vapor's are fake, the ACC mark is not on KID SIZE boots!**

Also, these are quite old, but they are a beautiful color and my favourite boot as I mentioned before. 

These Vapors were reduced to €38.40!!! 

I couldn't say no! 

€54.60 for two decent looking boots? I'm happy with that 👍🏽

I'm almost certain these boots will be used as a colouring book shortly so, keep an eye out for more posts.

NIKE AIR MAX 90's have to be my favorite runner/trainer/sneaker!

I remember I got my first pair when I was about 8.

I've been a 'Sneaker Freak' ever since.

I saw these Black, white and orange, Hypervenom style airmax's and at first, 

I wasn't sure if I actually liked them or not.

I thought, maybe they were a bit tacky?

I put them in my basket for a few weeks. And kept going back to look at them like a kid at a toy shop.

FINALLY

 I gave in and bought them.

In September I bought these old Adidas Predators on eBay with the intention of freshening them up.

 I have finally gotten around to doing that.

Here's some pictures of the Before, During and After stages.

I hope you like them.

I decided to dye the dark grey (gunmetal) area black.

It was quite easy to do and went on smoothly. 

It dried fully after a few hours.

Then, I decided to add some colour.

 I chose RED as it is my favorite colour and of course, because I love the classic

black and red Predators.

Personally, I think the red looks CLASS, but i'll let you be the judge of that.

The difference is unreal. 

Before, the hard shell at the back was scratched and worn.

Now it looks as good as new!

I wasn't sure what colour to do the stripes. 

 I went with red in the end.

I'm pleased with how they turned out. 

These are only the 2nd pair of boots I've customized.

All I have to do now, is put red laces in them when they dry fully,

spray them,

and they're good to go.

Spray a light coat of Lacquer when finished!

This isn't easy. It takes a lot of time and patience.

So if you are going to try this out, you have to take your time.
